Cassopolis Generosity Is Showing

First Boxes of Food Delivered to Local Food Bank

The holiday season of giving has officially begun in Cassopolis! Today, Cassopolis Chamber of Commerce President Billie Hires and Chamber Board Member Jeff Nelson proudly delivered the first boxes of donated food to Helping Hands of Cass County, a local food bank — all made possible by the incredible generosity of our Cassopolis community.

Over the past week, donations of nonperishable food and personal care items have been arriving steadily at Bolt Laserworks on South Rowland Street. Together, the Chamber and Bolt Laserworks have been sorting, boxing, and preparing these items for delivery to local agencies that serve families in need.

“It’s amazing to see how quickly our community steps up when there’s a need. Cassopolis generosity is showing” said Jeff Nelson. “We’re just getting started, and we hope to make many more deliveries like this between now and Christmas.”

The Cassopolis-Vandalia Chamber of Commerce and Bolt Laserworks sincerely thank everyone who has already donated — your kindness is making a real difference for local families this holiday season.

The collection will continue through Christmas, so there’s still plenty of time to participate. Simply bring your food or personal item donations to Bolt Laserworks, next to the Cassopolis Post Office, Monday through Friday.

As a special thank-you, everyone who donates will receive a beautiful etched acrylic Cassopolis 2025 Christmas tree ornament, handcrafted by Bolt Laserworks. Let's keep the giving spirit alive and help make the holidays brighter for those in need.

Thank you, Cassopolis, for showing what community truly means!
